This artwork depicts a journey of discovery: a quest to gain cultural knowledge. The gugaa (goanna) is the primary totem of Wiradjuri peoples and signifies our connection to Country. Concentric circles occupy the upper and lower sections of the canvas, representing the expansion of knowledge. As the rings begin to overlap, knowledge is pieced together to form a completed picture.

This artwork centres around three native Australian birds: a scarlet robin, a fairy wren, and a willie wagtail. The birds are sitting on coppery branches in a mottled green forrest. Dark shadows and cobwebs contrast pink flushes, which represent blooming flowers. Bird tracks and meeting places can be found scattered throughout the forrest. Journey lines, hidden in shadows, run through the artwork.

Journey to the Bunyas

This artwork depicts three bunya nuts, which are culturally significant. Mobs from all around, including Wiradjuri country, would travel to the Bunya Mountains to attend a large festival. The footprints represent people on their journey to and from the Bunyas. The concentric circles represent gaining knowledge on country during the trek.
